EVENT CONCEPT : Synergy with Energy 2009
SYNERGY WITH ENERGY and INDIA ENERGY SHOW 2009
In light of the importance of energy conservation and also reducing energy cost by achieving the maximum energy efficiency, the 5 national conference - Synergy with Energy and exhibition - INDIA ENERGY SHOW 2009, to be held on June 17-18, 2009 at Tagore Hall, Paldi, Ahmedabad, is focused on . “Energy Efficiency with Special Reference to Current Economic Scenario”
The conference is divided into six sessions (i) Energy Efficiency Solutions and Strategies (ii) Sustainable Energy Promotion (iii) Wind Power (iv) Solar Energy (v) Hydro Power (vi) Energy Conservation and Management (vii) Green Building.
Previous conference was attended by around 700 delegates representing wide spectrum of industries, associations, R&D centers, government officials, consultants, funding agencies, academia etc.
ENERGY: THE ELIXIR OF ECONOMY
Power is the key contributor to the development of country's socio-economic infrastructure. The exhaustible reserves of fossil fuels and their volatile market prices further contribute towards energy insecurity of nations. Government recognizes the central role of energy in this context and need to have a policy for “efficient use of conventional energy, proactively establish and
promote sustained use of new and non-conventional energy sources and applications to reduce emissions and related impacts of climate change”.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
This is also essential to prevent avoidable erosion of natural carbon - energy resources the state is endowed with. Based on this “climate efficient initiative” the State has decided to promote energy efficiency measures, adopt preventive
management techniques and build capacities in which all concerned stakeholders to contribute and sustain successful transitions to a more energy efficient future duly emphasizing the local relevance of alternatives.
INDIA - WORLD'S LEADING ENERGY PRODUCER AND CONSUMER
We currently rank as the world's eleventh biggest energy producer, accounting for about 2.4 percent of the world's total annual energy production. Subsequently, we are the world's sixth largest energy consumer accounting for about 3.3 percent of the world's total annual energy consumption. With demand rising, India's dependence on external sources for energy will rise, leading to growing
emissions causing irreversible changes.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
Renewable energy, which has so far been an offbeat business, seems to hold a reasonable promise in contributing to both, provided it is mainstreamed. Moreover, it earns carbon credits of the order of 5000 CERs per mw per year, as per the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Gujarat state is committed towards promotion of
cleaner fuels and efficient technologies in power generation. This policy aims at providing an enabling framework for encouraging private participation and promoting efficient, environment-friendly technologies in power generation.
The state is endowed with high solar radiation levels with 300 days of clear sun with conducive arid condition and minimal sun tracking especially in the barren wasteland areas. The state government proposes to encourage solar power generation projects as a means for socio-economic development of these backward regions through livelihood creation for the local population. These areas have the potential to transform into an `Integrated Solar Generation Hub' for the entire nation.
The State of Gujarat also has the highest wind power potential in the country i.e. 9675MW. In order to harness this potential, the state government introduced policies for offering incentives to the sector in 1993, 2002 and 2007. At present, the state has the third highest generation capacity i.e. 1380 MW in the country.
Saket Projects Limited is a multi-disciplinary company involved in creating interactive knowledge based platforms through various activities including publications, conferences, exhibitions as well as Internet. One of the core focus areas is related to energy management.
Since 2004, we organize national conference on Indian energy sector - and exhibition - , annually. The event is already become a brand equity event and is now recognized as one of the major platforms offering a national debate on the subjects of contemporary interest concerning energy management. The first conference was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister, Gujarat and Special Address was delivered by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the then H.E. the President of India.
